Do not panic when u see red timers.
At this point of time, there was no catapult so, basically it wont damage your buildings and resource fields at all.
What should be done?
1st Do not give them your resources!
2nd Do not get your troops killed!
How?
You must be an active player and/or have an active sitter.
first u must done are u must build some cranny for keep your resource from someone who want to attack your village. that will handle the 1st thing, so they didn't got any resource from your village..
for the 2nd thing. you must send your troops for do some thing like attacking another people village when u going to offline.
i give u some example like this.
when u plan for sleep about 10 hour so you must find someone village far from u and it takes 5 hour time for your troops reach that village so when they go they are take 5 hour and take 5 hour more for back to your village. then when u wake up your troops already at your village and ready for fight..
the second way and the easy way send your troops to your friend village as a reinforcements so they will stay at that village when you are sleeping/away
